The Problem of Electricity with Big Data

It seems that when we look at the continuously increasing dataset size, we are prone to feel a false sense of security by looking at how storage cost keeps dropping at a head spinning pace. That seems to be the promise of Big Data. 

Increasing data size means that there is more to download, more to upload, more connections to manage, more hardware to run, and so forth. All of that costs resources and it costs electricity. Price of which is definitely not showing any indications of reducing
